My sister recently shared a great link with me that means a great deal to me and my family...Here is a little bit about the history of the annual Loving Day celebration and what it means copied from there Facebook page...
Loving Day fights racial prejudice through education and builds multicultural community.
It’s a global network of annual celebrations that you can host or attend. It’s also an educational campaign that you can be a part of every day. The annual Loving Day celebrations commemorate Loving v. Virginia (1967), the Supreme Court case that legalized interracial relationships in America. The campaign uses digital media to provide educational resources and to encourage people nationwide to host their own celebrations on the Sunday closest to June 12th. Loving Day teaches people about the history of interracial couples in America and works to make the Loving case a universally recognized civil rights landmark.
